Confronting the Pharisee in Me Part One
This year’s Lenten devotional, “Confronting the Pharisee in Me,” invites us into a seven-week journey of honest reflection, repentance, and renewal. Beginning with Ash Wednesday and the call to repentance, each week explores themes like hypocrisy, the heart behind obedience, control, compassion and justice, humility, and ultimately the cross during Holy Week. Together, we will examine not just our outward actions, but the deeper motivations of the heart.
Throughout this season, we hold fast to the beautiful tension of justification and sanctification—remembering that we are saved by grace alone, and that every act of obedience flows in response to what Christ has already done for us. As pride gives way to humility and repentance, we open ourselves to the Spirit’s transforming work. May this devotional guide us to receive God’s radical grace and respond with faithful, surrendered obedience as we prepare our hearts for Easter.
