Hope for Freedom Midweek (Johnson)
This week we see Jesus walk into a hopeless situation bringing a freedom that no one thought possible. Scripture tells us that this man was controlled by powers outside himself, lived amongst the darkness, was in constant torment, and caused many people a lot of pain. Now we know this man was possessed by many demons, but when you speak to people who have suffered under the control of addictions, depression, and oppressions describe those situations in much the same way. There are many in our communities, workplaces and even families who are struggling under powers from outside themselves and many feel they are` in a hopeless situation. Isaiah 61:1 reminds us that Jesus came to liberate those who are captive, set free those who are bound, and He alone is our only Hope at Freedom
